You Exist but You Aren’t Real

Are you ready for this?

You’re attached to your ego. Sorry, but it’s true. And if it isn’t, you already know that and you don’t need me to tell you. But very likely, like most of the population of Earth, you are attached to it, and so I am here to tell you what that means. How does it impact your existence?

Your whole idea of life and who you are is an illusion. The ego is manifested from your consciousness so that you can experience life as you know it. Your consciousness and existence sits at your soul level — or as some people would say, your higher self — and it orchestrated all of this for the benefit of human life. For the benefit of you.

But no one ever said you needed to be attached to all of this.

You’re not real. I mean that in the sense that it’s an illusion. Your identity is an illusion and the world around you is also an illusion. The fact that you like tacos is an illusion. Tacos themselves are illusions. A beautiful story told by quantum consciousness. A theatrical play put on by the universe.

As you move through these awakenings, they might motivate you to want to reassess the definitions of real and illusion.

So, where do we go from here?

The Implications

When you realize that your higher consciousness manifested your ego, your body, and your life, then things become easier. Your attachments fall away, because how can you possess an illusion? You can begin to make choices that embody love and joy and welcome the reciprocal love and joy that enter your life’s journey.

You can just really enjoy life.

All of the ups and downs become exciting instead of scary. It’s fun to just see where this reality takes you. You no longer fear things like death and loss.

You know where you are, exactly: you’re in a really wild and incredible place called planet Earth which will never let you down. You’re totally supported by the very reality you inhabit, like a fish swimming in the sea is supported by the fabric of the water.

Contradictions: Surrender and Control

You are in control of your life, yet you must also surrender. Your energy and mindset make you the master of your destiny, yet you must be in sync with the laws of nature in order to flow through life. You can manifest anything you want, yet you must want nothing.

It’s a world of contradictions.

You’re nonphysical and physical at the same time. You’re a mind and a body at the same time. You have control and no control. You are an individual and also part of a whole. Your ego must stand apart from the abyss, yet you must also connect with the great oneness.

This is how creation is done.

Balance and Trust

Totally letting go is all that matters. If you try to think too hard about what it all means, you start to get overwhelmed. It just is.

You must trust.

If you try to ask for something different than what you already have too much, you remove yourself from the great tapestry of life that has been gifted to you and you lose touch with the present moment.

You must maintain balance.

Your True Nature

Remember that you’re a wave in an ocean. You formed for a moment — that’s how long your life is — and you’ll dissolve in a moment. Then you may form again!

Time may not be real. The past and future? Not real. All that you need to care about is the present moment.

When you focus on your existence right now, that gives you as real a sense of you as you’ll ever get. As soon as you start indulging in the past or the future, you start to lose touch with your reality. I mean, you aren’t even who you thought you were yesterday anyway, so why dwell? In a week, you won’t be who you are now. Your parts are constantly shifting.

Regrets need to be released. Cherishing and yearning for past joys doesn’t help you right now. Asking for a certain future will only bring you suffering when the future arrives and it’s a different one than you expected.

Believe in the Myth of You, Embrace Your Consciousness and Existence

Your personal identity is a myth. The things you believe are attached to your personhood aren’t real. All of your memories, preferences, desires, hobbies, and traumas aren’t really there. They’re a made-up story. The only thing real is that you are a field of consciousness.

You’re a field of consciousness within a greater field of consciousness that is the universe.

You have experiences. That is real. You know things. The object of your knowing may be an illusion, but the knowing itself is not.

Believe in the illusion but don’t attach to it. You don’t need to hold so tight to the belief in who you are.

You change all the time, and you should be open to changing all the time. When things start shifting, let them go. Believe in the story you’re living but don’t marry yourself to it so much that you shut down when the plot begins to change.

You exist — but you aren’t real. This is all an illusion. Your soul is real but your ego attachments are make-believe.

Life is a wonderful adventure if you believe in the magic.
