These are often requested by clients, but not feasible in reality.
I am a psychic. I do readings with cards and in a state of trance. I have the intuitive ability to know a lot of things. However, I am also human, not superhuman. I am known among my clients as a “good” psychic, and I believe that is because I deliver messages from Spirit fairly accurately, not because I can tell the future or give names and numbers on command.
I don’t think there’s anything special about my abilities. Anyone can do this work. It’s just that most people don’t get out of their heads enough to hear and feel the messages I receive.
I do feel when something is about to happen sometimes. And I can see things as they’re meant to unfold in the future. But not all the time.
Spirit doesn’t want you to know everything — otherwise there would be no point in being alive.
Spirit doesn’t often deliver very specific messages to me like names and dates — but it does sometimes. Not having the reliance on guaranteed, super-specific answers in a reading can be frustrating for someone who is seeking an exact set of instructions for their life.
That’s just not how I do readings. I am not a mystic who makes it seem like I am delivering otherworldly messages. I am here in the room, on the planet with you, giving you grounded messages. I can’t force a message to come through that isn’t meant to come through. In fact, the way this works is that I force nothing — I just get out of my mind, step out of my own way, and let messages come to me.
I focus my readings on advice and what’s coming through as a message for the client’s highest good. I leave it open to the universe to deliver that message. It may not be what was expected in the reading.
If I were forcing names and dates to come through, that would be fake. And I wouldn’t be pursuing this career if I were interested in doing anything fake. That means I don’t appeal to everyone, and some clients go elsewhere, and that’s totally fine by me!
Below, I’ve listed three things that a real psychic won’t be able to do — and I hope it helps you discern whether you’re working with the real deal.
1. Tell You Names
Lately, I’ve been asked often whether I can channel the name of someone’s future lover or twin flame. People want to know if this person exists and where they’ll meet them. While a real psychic may be able to have this information some of the time, it isn’t a reasonable request. I never go into my readings asking for this information, although on occasion, it’s come through unexpectedly.
A real psychic can’t guarantee you’ll get super specific information. That’s why it’s better to have a more general question about a topic. I find that it’s great to re-frame this kind of question into one that is focused on advice, such as “What can I do to attract love into my life?”
2. Give You An Exact Prediction of the Future
There are very few psychics and astrologers in history who have been able to accurately predict the exact future. Even Nostradamus wasn’t 100% accurate. So, how can you expect to work with an everyday psychic who can do this?
Anyone who can accurately predict the future won’t be working personally with clients making under $100 per hour, I can tell you that! It would be quite a valuable talent to be able to do this, and psychics who can do it won’t use their time to predict your financial and romantic future — they’ll be working on using their gifts to elevate humanity as a whole.
Again, a better way to frame such a question in my readings is to ask, “What advice is there for me in my future?” or “What do I need to know about the future that may help me thrive?”
3. Answer Your Questions 100% of the Time
I was once in a psychic development conference with the famous psychic, Echo Bodine. She said, “Even the best psychics are only right about 75% of the time.” In the same vein, the best psychics also won’t be able to answer every single question you have. Sometimes the universe won’t provide the answer. I draw blanks sometimes, and I have to tell the client that we’ve reached the limit of what we’re permitted to know in this reading.
Any psychic who is able to give you all the answers — and even answers you didn’t ask for — is not genuine. Nobody knows it all. If they did, they wouldn’t be working in your local psychic shop or on a hotline — they’d be very famous, and you wouldn’t be able to access them easily.
Discernment is Key
I hope that this helps you discern (and possibly save yourself some money) on your journey with psychic readings. Many of my clients say they pursue readings with psychics as a form of therapy. It’s not always about getting exact answers — sometimes it’s just reassuring to know that there’s a higher power at work in our lives, and that your path isn’t random.
