In order to re-write the script of your life, you have to change the wording. You can’t expect that things will change around you if you’re not willing to put in the work to change things within you. This is what I’ve learned and why words are powerful.

I spent the last six months of my life recovering from tragedy and trauma. I got into a habit of telling myself that there is no hope for me. I still had hope for other people and I still wanted to do good in this world, but I was stuck on the idea that nothing good could happen to me again. I was very wrong to do this to myself, and yet I also forgive myself because I was grieving.

Recently, I realized that the negative self-talk was not right. Grief and pain will come and go, but speaking outwardly or inwardly about the loss of hope was doing me nothing but harm. I didn’t want to admit that to myself for a while because I had experienced great tragedy, and I certainly didn’t speak that into existence. But some things are just meant to happen to wake you up further. Other things, you can attract or repel.

There are many things you have control over in your life through your mental and physical vibrations.

I hated when people said “your life is your mindset!” when I was grieving. That’s the worst thing you can tell someone who just experienced the loss of someone they loved.

Yet, they are right to an extent. Even when the worst happens, it’s not okay to wallow in sadness. Sadness happens, grief must be expressed and experienced, and pain exists. It’s part of being human. But we must learn to liberate ourselves by not attaching to the pain. If we get addicted to it and identify our lives as “sad” then we are vibrating at a sad level. More sadness can’t help but find us.

Likewise, speaking to others in anger does you no favors. Even having angry, judgmental thoughts about other people creates a difference in the world, and it only makes it more desolate for you. You should be thinking and speaking from a place of love if you want to create abundance and happiness in your life.

Let me tell you more about why this is true.

Words Are Vibrations and Vibrations Create

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Sound familiar? In all ancient belief systems, there was the idea that the universe was created with a “word” — a vibration. Egyptians, Hindus, and so many more I can’t list here all had this creation story in their cultures. A word like “Aum” brought all of this into existence.

And now we have quantum physics which tells us that everything is vibration. Everything is energy. The ground you’re standing on seems solid, but it’s a vibration. The chair you’re sitting on, is it real? We must start to wonder what reality even is.

So, our voices create powerful vibrations. They can speak and form words that have meaning, and that meaning vibrates across the reality of the universe. We hold so much power in our throats. This is why words are powerful.

Our mental voices also hold power. We are thinking things in words, right? And even if we weren’t, our thoughts would still be powerful vibrations. As an example, I teach a style of meditation that harnesses the power of primordial vibrations in the form of a mantra, and the mantra is normally chanted only in the mind. It can start to change your reality if you practice it regularly.

You’re a powerhouse of creation and you don’t even realize it.

Manifesting is No Joke

Don’t take this lightly. You’re literally an agent of change.

I have written previously about how “manifesting” as it’s presented in modern spiritual communities is a joke. That’s because I think that in order to manifest, we need to align with the desires of the universe. We can’t manifest a million dollars unless that’s something that will help us achieve the soul mission we’re here for. But when we do manifest, our vibrations (from within and from our voices) are completely peaceful, creative, and full of love.

We can manifest more love. We can manifest a happy life. But we can also manifest sadness.

I’m not saying you are manifesting life and death. I don’t claim that you can manifest a sports car out of thin air. But you should be careful about what you say and think, and make sure it’s positive. Make sure it’s all high vibes. Whatever you are thinking and doing will create a reality for you to match that level of vibration. You have to understand why words are powerful and how to use them mentally as well as verbally.

Be kind to others and tell the truth.

Changing Your Script

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the scripts of our lives. Some people like to call this a “soul contract” but I think that’s a bit strong. Our lives are storylines. We’re playing roles here. The ego is our character.

When we change the way we are vibrating into the world through the alteration of our inner and outer dialogue, the script is rewritten. I truly believe that.

We find ourselves experiencing a different reality when we vibe higher.

Life begins to change. People appear on the path in front of us who match our new level of vibration. Events begin to occur that fulfill us deeply. Miracles happen.

So, be vigilant of the vibrations that are writing your script. This is why words are powerful.

It’s All in the Mindset

Your mind is the source of all of this. All of it.

I’ll tell you what I do to get into a higher vibration and become more aware of my thoughts: I meditate.

In meditation, I get to know the self. I know who I am. I determine why I am here. And I notice my own thoughts. I shed emotional reactions and learn to see life in bliss instead. I smile more. I find good things to say about people. I see that the world is one, and I am everything. Being kind to others is being kind to myself.

It’s not easy. When we have endured a lot of hardship or trauma, we have such a negative internal voice telling us we’re not good enough, people are out to get us, and life is pain. But this can all be overcome with effort. It also takes practice. We can learn to flip the script.

Meditation is key.
