And it’s those people that make the rest of us look crazy.
I write to empower and validate you on your twin flame journey. I also write to give people a window into my own experiences so that they can feel less alone on this rollercoaster ride. But along the way, my writing inadvertently emboldens the wrong people — sometimes.
I am not here to encourage delusional people to pursue a path that isn’t right for them in their situation. But sometimes it just works out that way. That’s because the twin flame journey, when understood only on a superficial level, appears to be a toxic and abusive situation. It seems to justify the pain and suffering that is experienced in bad relationships.
Some people who think they’re twin flames are simply obsessed, and others are codependent. When they speak to me, I always try to point them in a direction of independence and inner exploration, instead of an outward search for love. But it’s hard to explain to someone what inner alchemy means when they have spent their whole lives defining themselves through their outer relationships.
I usually don’t write anything negative about anyone on this journey because my philosophy has been that all journeys are equally valid — and I still believe that. However, it’s a growing fear of mine that I might lead someone down the wrong path by giving them reasons to continue unhealthy or self-destructive behavior. I am worried that many people are missing the point that I’m trying to make.
It’s About Inner Liberation
The twin flame journey — like any spiritual path — is meant to create freedom. It’s not meant to keep you in bondage to your unhealthy habits, whether they are mental or physical. The journey is to self-love and sovereignty. It’s an inner experience that allows you to know the self.
A true twin flame path isn’t about abuse or seeking someone to ‘complete’ you. It’s about pure love, which shows up first as self-love.
What confuses people is that obsessions can be useful in getting you to a state of sovereignty. Pain is often required to subsequently find bliss.
The universe sets it up so that you’re in such an uncomfortable situation that you’re forced to find a solution — one you’ve never come up with before. You have to change your behavior to free yourself from invasive thoughts. You have to get used to uncertainty. Twin flame experiences are often of this nature—liberators.
Obsession as a Catalyst
I should say that obsessiveness isn’t a necessary part of a twin flame journey, but it can be a catalyst. It helps you find answers on this journey by making you hit rock bottom first, and then starting to understand the world again from scratch.
I should add that some twin flames don’t need separation and cyclical thoughts to push them to a higher awakening — it can happen synchronistically when they meet. Some twin flames need grief instead of an obsession to push them to change something.
My point is that when people become obsessed without the realization that it’s an opportunity to change something big, they aren’t embodying the energy of a twin flame. You can become enamoured and obsessed with people who aren’t your twin flames. This is called attachment.
But the twin flame journey is about non-attachment. It’s about letting go. It’s a painful transformation. It’s a force of change.
Delusional Attachments
Some people on this journey are delusional — they think that their bad breakup is a twin flame separation. They think that the push-and-pull dynamics of a relationship are indicative of a twin flame. They don’t know any better. How could they? Someone who hasn’t met their twin flame would naturally think these things are signs of a twin flame.
It’s an inner journey — something that can’t be seen from the outside. It’s very hard to explain to someone what this means if they haven’t experienced it. An inner transformation set in motion by a twin flame is a very weird thing, and it appears on the outside as if it’s a toxic relationship.
A true twin flame knows that it’s the opposite — it forces us to level up on the spiritual path. It’s a new phenomenon on the inner planes of your existence. It lets you see your unhealthy thought patterns clearly so that you can choose a new pattern.
I hate to label anyone “delusional,” but after seeing thousands of comments on my videos on various platforms and hearing countless stories, I know that some people are using the label of “twin flames” as a reason to keep pursuing a single person in the world who may not be good for them. They use it as a reason to reinforce their attachment to this person, deriving meaning from that person’s existence and affections. They end up doing the exact opposite of what they should be doing, which is releasing control and finding the love within.
People who are focused on their twin flame person instead of their twin flame transformation are missing the point.
