Twin souls — or as we may call them here, twin flames — are split from one soul in the descent to Earth as part of a journey of learning. The universe wants to evolve. Therefore, you want to evolve — since you’re part of the universe. Every soul longs to reunite with the greater oneness of souls — the source of consciousness. Likewise, twin flames split in order to blindly find their way back together. The twin flame journey is a mirrored relationship — a smaller version of the greater journey of the soul in the universe.
In their path of ascension from darkness toward that source, twin flames must endure unimaginable struggles. This place is uncomfortable for a reason. They cannot complete their soul’s journey alone — their union must come at some point before they make it to total oneness.

Whether their union happens here on Earth or in the beyond — the next plane —is a question I think often about. More often than not, it serves no soul purpose for twin flames to unite as humans on Earth because, in an ongoing human relationship struggle, the soul learns the most. So the unification likely happens sometime between human lives on the higher planes.
In truth, unification isn’t possible on Earth in the real sense because we are always incarnated in two bodies. The bodies are a physical barrier to unity.
Passing Through Levels of Vibration
Once souls graduate past the need for the soul university of human life, they remain in higher planes for the higher lessons found there. They continue toward higher and higher levels of consciousness. The soul’s ascent creates more and more of an understanding of love. Ultimate love is the end destination where oneness with the universe is found.
The idea is that the soul plunges into the descent toward lower vibrations for the great challenge of learning love from scratch. Splitting into two souls is a necessary part of the journey to the lower planes, where oneness is very hard. Unification there is very difficult in any sense, especially with a twin flame. That place is where we live — Earth.
Ego and Barriers
When we get here, we must raise our vibration little by little. As a collective, it must happen, but also as an individual. We move back upward toward the light.
On Earth, so many things act as barriers against truth and love. Most humans don’t understand love fully, and grasping the greater purpose in life here is always difficult because it is overshadowed by the ego. The ego creates personal desires and needs, putting up boundaries and walls against oneness with anyone and anything. If you can transcend the ego, you are moving ahead.
With a twin flame situation, the ego offers a lot of great challenges. So much fear is involved with twin souls trying to come together. The truth will be known if you look at your twin flame, and that mirrored image may scare the hell out of you. Your ego tells you that you can’t handle such intense realness, and it turns you toward less meaningful pursuits like drinking alcohol and burying your head in work.
Coming Together
When you meet your twin flame, remember that you are on a soul journey together. The conclusion of the story is far in the distance. You are playing out just one chapter — just one dance — in this lifetime. It’s like your soul and theirs need to orbit each other before finally melding.
It’s so hard for twin flames to come together in a human lifetime because the vibration here is so low and it’s so hard to overcome your human, ego attachments. But as pure souls on the next plane, it’s so much easier. A lot of silly distractions are removed from the soul journey when you rise above this plane.
So, keep working on your spiritual health. Mind your vibration. Lighten your energy. See your twin flame as a fellow student in a very intense class you’re taking together.
Someday, this will all make more sense.
