To most of us, it seems insane that our souls would choose to come to this planet to experience this wild mess we call human life. That’s the surface-level ego talking — telling us that this is way too difficult and maddening to put ourselves through anything like this. From where we stand, it seems like Earth is full of beauty but also full of tragedy. But soul ascension requires transcendence past the surface of reality.
The soul knows we’re here for a good reason. We came here to experience a wild adventure so we could have the full spectrum of human emotions and learn about ourselves in ways we never could on a higher plane. We came here to learn.

It’s not an option to just sit back and do nothing here. You have to be all-in. You can’t leave whenever you feel like it. You can’t just check out. Your soul is committed to this — and it still wants to be here. Anything you do here is significant. You don’t get a vacation or a break from soul learning. You have to keep ascending.
You came here to experience all the thrills, the highs and the lows, and all the lessons. You have to evolve.
Literally, all you really need to worry about is integrating your lessons into your life and always making the choices for yourself that you know are best. It’s astonishingly simple. In a way, it’s comforting that all you need to do is face the discomfort.
Graduating from Karmic Cycles
You’re constantly being presented with choices and situations that challenge you. The universe knows what you’ve chosen in the past, and it wants to see if you’ve learned the lessons. If you constantly make the same bad decisions, repeating past cycles, then you aren’t improving — are you? So, like….don’t do that.
I am trying to make you understand this. Your career doesn’t matter. Your money doesn’t matter. Your body image doesn’t matter. Your possessions and your house and your car really don’t matter. Your social status doesn’t matter. What matters? Your soul ascension. You have to be making the best decisions possible at every moment in time.
You don’t want to keep going round and round, stuck in the same cycle all the time, do you?
You know what’s right and wrong. You know when you’re making a decision selfishly or with the wrong intentions. You know when you’re indulging. And the universe knows, too. If you say “This time I’m gonna allow myself to enjoy a little moral irresponsibility,” as if you get a free pass sometimes, you’re sorely mistaken. There are no free passes here on Earth. You must be trying to get better all the time.
Plunging Down and Spiralling Up
It’s uncomfortable. It’s awful at times. But you must keep spiraling upward. The soul decided to dive deep into the lower levels of vibrations in order to be here and incarnate in human form. Let’s try to make it worthwhile for your soul to do such a tough thing, okay?
The soul’s journey is to separate so far from source and come here with such blindness that it feels like a miracle when you find the oneness of universal love again. The upward trek is an important one. It circles around and around in cycles — spiraling through the same kinds of situations over and over again until it finally detaches from the past and moves into a higher cycle.
You don’t want to spiral downward, further into darkness. You want to spiral higher toward truth, justice, and love. So, make decisions that you know embody these ideals.
Staying Aware
At some level, you know all of this to be true. It doesn’t need to appear in a religious text or an academic volume to grab your attention. You know what is right and wrong, and you can’t escape from basic morality.
These truths are universal. They live within the laws of the universe and within you. Truth is not a human construct.
Become more aware of what is right and what is wrong. Treat yourself with respect by always choosing the right path to the best of your ability. Sometimes that means you have to shift focus from all the material possessions you’ve acquired or from the status you’ve reached. It takes courage to lay down these ego-centric acquisitions to sometimes choose a higher purpose. But this is what life is really about.
