Learn to tell when you’re dealing with the real thing.
I’ve been a spiritual worker for a few years now. I have only realized in the last several months that this type of work is extremely taxing on the body, both physically and emotionally. Being a healer is not easy work.
A true healer cares deeply about the person receiving the healing and dedicates a lot of energy to solving the problem at hand. I am not even performing psychic mediumship work for clients — which is very challenging — and I know this. A real psychic can’t work eight hours a day. They need breaks and they can only handle a small number of clients in a row before they are exhausted.
I do tarot readings and talk sessions with my clients about their spiritual journeys. Occasionally, during a tarot reading, a message will come through from the other side. The spirit world sends me the messages and I am a channel. Messages can be from spirit guides, dead loved ones, the universe, or a person’s higher self.
You might think that being a channel is not hard work because all you have to do is open yourself to the transference of information. However, although it doesn’t require anything new to be created, it does require verbal interpretation of spiritual (abstract) messages. And it requires complete concentration and attention. During my sessions, I can’t think about my own life at all. I am completely focused on my client’s story and/or the problem they are presenting me with.
In addition, in my talk sessions (which may be called spiritual coaching), I am completely focused on my client. I am gathering information from their words to put together and convey the best possible message for their highest good. No one can do such work without caring deeply. And it can be exhausting.
After a day of a few meetings with clients, my energy is spent. I can only imagine how difficult it is to be a psychic medium actively channeling a spirit on the other side for even ten minutes. If you have ever opened yourself up to carrying a message through or even holding someone else’s emotion for a few moments, you know how challenging this kind of work can be.
Therefore, you should know that a real psychic will not take back-to-back clients all day. One reading takes recovery. They will not be able to perform a reading at the drop of a hat, either, because it takes mental preparation. They are not able to turn their abilities on and off on someone else’s whim. Some psychics even guard their time carefully and won’t do readings at certain times of the day. They’re the real deal and well worth the price of admission.
You can tell when you meet a psychic who is just trying to run a business. They’ll keep a tight schedule with client after client. They will tell you what you want to hear and they will treat readings like nothing special. They’ll try to sell you more and more. It will seem like they’ve streamlined their valuable work, but in fact, they have lost the meaning behind it — which is always to heal. Anytime someone delivers a spiritual message of any kind, it’s special and sacred. It can not be boxed up and sold in a Happy Meal.
So, the next time you are looking for a psychic, consider your options. Is this person doing this for the right reasons? Are they the real thing? Do they seem like they are taking it seriously enough that their energy needs to be conserved? A real psychic will know how to save and utilize their energy in a beneficial way.
