It’s not just about healing and self-awareness.
Being “spiritual” doesn’t just mean that you can manipulate energy or that you practice wellness. This is certainly an aspect of the spiritual path, but to stop there without working on the inner self is a mistake. Looking inward is important. Spiritual growth means more than having a belief or a connection. It’s about higher consciousness, oneness, and moral responsibility.
What’s the point of spiritual development if there’s no commitment to inner purity? We must know the self, embody higher wisdom at all times, improve the mind, and remove inner barriers against other people. Inner toxins that cause us to take on bad habits must go. If this isn’t happening, nothing else really matters.
1. Higher Consciousness
We are more than the physical existence we witness with the five senses. A true spiritual path usually begins with the realization that consciousness goes beyond the physical world. There’s a mundane existence, and there’s a spiritual existence that goes on simultaneously. Understanding the layers of reality is an awakening.
Embracing the transcendent nature of your existence helps you rise above earthly problems and see everything from the perspective of the soul. The real goal isn’t just to understand this but to live it. We must try to walk the path with higher consciousness at all times.
Without truly embodying this wisdom about life, there would be no point in pursuing a spiritual path.
2. Oneness
We are all connected. We are also connected to everything in existence. We are the same as the supreme intelligence that pervades all things. It’s a paradox because we are individuals, and yet we are a collective. We are one with all things.
Most people — even spiritual people — remain in a state of mental disconnection with the rest of the collective out of fear. They don’t operate as if they have any connection to anything outside themselves. They act selfishly and make choices out of fear that another soul will harm them.
They would never do this if they truly understood. This way of living comes from a state of separation.
But we’re connected, and if we want to live a truly spiritual existence, we must operate as if all people and things are extensions of ourselves. As you read this, I am just another you reflecting back part of the greater mind.
3. Moral Responsibility
Our minds are powerful and create our reality; therefore, we must take responsibility for all that has happened to us. A real spiritual path requires you to go beyond mere practices of manifestation and to understand that our mental powers shouldn’t be taken lightly. It takes real strength to do this.
We must embody oneness and higher consciousness, both of which I already explained, before we should even try to use the mind to manifest things — otherwise, we run the risk of manifesting things that are merely self-serving or that don’t benefit the collective. What’s the point of being alive if we aren’t working for the greater good? Everything you wish for needs to have some kind of benefit for someone beyond yourself.
Treating your life as valuable, your body as a temple, and taking the gift of existence seriously is a monumentally important step of the true spiritual path.
You must commit yourself to improving the quality of your inner world. You must cultivate a light and blissful mind that is free of bad habits. Being good to oneself is the first step before you can be good to others. It’s not just about salt baths and healthy eating — you also need to change the way your mind works and take control of it so you can steer it away from self-destructive thoughts and habits.
Taking responsibility for using the mind to pursue light and truth is essential for a truly spiritual path. What good is it to be a spiritual person with knowledge of manifestation if you have no spiritual fortitude to use your powers responsibly and wisely? The world doesn’t need more people manifesting selfish ends that merely bring pleasure to their small lives or create successes for them at the cost of others’ failures.
Before you declare yourself “spiritual,” remember that it entails more than a psychic or magical connection. It’s more important that you are following a righteous and pure path that accepts all people as fellow travelers on life’s journey. Love yourself and love all people, and you will excel in the spiritual sense more than if you merely understood how to manipulate energies.
