Your inner state of being is the key to your health.

Humanity has brainwashed itself into thinking that healing is about applying treatments, medicines, and therapies. There are a plethora of vendors out there who are happy to charge you a lot of money to provide these services. We’re also used to waiting until we’re sick and then seeking healthcare reactively instead of focusing on healing ourselves preventatively and before the problem becomes debilitating. We take health for granted so often. Then, fear takes over when we discover a health problem in the system. I want to offer an approach that is self-dependent instead of dependent on sources of healing outside the self. This is mental healing.

It must be accepted that some healing is dependent on people and remedies, and there are certainly problems that must be solved by completely submitting the self to the trust of a stranger to do work on you. But if we start early and shift our consciousness to healing the wounds and unhealthy mental patterns that generally lead to ailments, we can do a lot of good for ourselves. Healing starts with the mind and spirit.

Especially with mental health, what I’m about to say in this article is true. However, if you see the physical body as a manifestation of your consciousness (as I do), it is also true of your physical health. You’ll find that it only takes a small shift in perspective toward believing that health is within your control to find liberation in a mental approach to healing.

Take responsibility and control.

Too many people think that what’s happening to their health is outside their control. We’re so used to blaming genetics and our environments for the health problems that develop. We also generally feel powerless because our environments are harmful and there’s no way to change the past.

The first step in true healing is to stop being a victim. Take responsibility for your ailment, and also for your healing. This is so hard in a world where victimhood is the norm. We’re constantly validated for feeling sorry for ourselves and for being at the mercy of others. But our health problems are within us and the realm of our control.

You must stop the thought pattern of victimhood in its tracks and instead, look for deep reasons why this happened to you. Understand which choices you made in the past have led to this moment. There is always a chance to respond consciously or to react mindlessly to any situation. Determine what you will do differently going forward.

Sit with pain & acknowledge it.

Instead of trying to get rid of the problem quickly, sit with it. Let it be what it needs to be. We feel entitled to rid ourselves of pain and to get cured instantly as a result of our toxic consumeristic culture. We often seek instant results instead of honoring the healing journey as a process that takes time.

Pain is there for a reason and healing is a process.

Accept that your ailment and your pain are part of you and they are there for a reason. The pain is a teacher. The healing journey makes you stronger. It allows you to see what needs to change. It is part of you and has its right place. Don’t try to bypass it. Integrate it into your being.

Be aware that you shouldn’t let the pain or illness define you. The correct approach is to acknowledge it as part of you but to also retain control. You’re the captain of this ship, not your pain.

Have no fear.

You’re the master of your destiny. There is no reason to fear what will happen. To heal, you can’t give in to worries and anxieties about the future. What will be will be. And many times, you can turn your problem around with your mind if you have courage to detach from the idea that you’re doomed. There are many stories of people who healed themselves by taking an inner journey of strength.

Transmute worry and stress into light and hope. Be brave enough to claim a positive mentality. Fears are toxins that seep into our systems for years, ultimately lodging in the subconscious mind, which creates our realities. They make us adopt limiting beliefs about what we deserve and who we are as people, fundamentally. Your fears lead you to unhealthy habits and addictions. Thoughts cause actions and any action that is self-destructive, over time, leads to illness.

You are worthy of immaculate health.

If we don’t deeply believe that we deserve perfect health, how can that manifest? Are we just hoping that despite all of our dark thoughts, we will just get lucky? To choose a healthy lifestyle, you must believe that you deserve it and prioritize your health. But you can’t do that if fears have blocked you.

Dedicate yourself.

So, acknowledge the pain, dedicate yourself to high vibrational thoughts, and never allow yourself to be a victim of the world or your own mind. It may not heal every single problem you have, for some things are destiny and everybody eventually dies, but it will allow you to live a very happy and healthy lifestyle while you’re here. Isn’t that all that really matters?
