You’re living in a story and it certainly feels real, doesn’t it?

You’d be hard-pressed to convince me that dreams aren’t “real”. When I’m in one, it really doesn’t feel like there’s anything unreal about it. I’m still “me”, which is a real enough feeling. Objects feel pretty solid in dreams. You might argue that things often don’t make sense in dreams but would you say that they make sense in this level of awareness? Would you really?

Book a Session with Emily

I was reading a book called A Field Guide to Lucid Dreaming where the authors listed levels of awareness in dreams. As I was reading it, things got weird, because I was experiencing so much energy in my current manifestation. I had the sense that things were changing or full of life beyond the perception of my five senses. The consciousness I am occupying felt full of possibilities. I kept reading, and on page 118, the book said this about levels of awareness:

Level One: No awareness whatsoever (…that it’s a dream)

Level Two: Slight awareness that you’re dreaming…

Level Three: You know that you’re dreaming but see things “out there” as separate from you…

Level Four: You know you’re dreaming and that everything “out there” is really “in here”; there is no separation…

Level Five: …The projections of the dream world dissolve and you reach a level of pure conscious awareness…

Admittedly, this is where I stopped reading the book. It was clear to me that the authors hadn’t realized that they just described “waking” reality. They are teaching the rest of us how to lucid dream without having lucidity in their own day-to-day lives.

In this life, we perceive things as separate from us, but they are not. It’s possible right now to reach a level of pure awareness in this reality. So many incredible things are then unlocked!

Reality and dreams aren’t different.

It’s just that we seem to keep coming back to this dream in between the ones we have at night.

Book a spiritual coaching session with me! I am looking forward to helping you on your journey.

This Isn’t the Highest Level of Consciousness

In my meditation course, I talk about the levels of consciousness from the Vedic tradition in the final class. This is my favorite class to teach. I love to hear how people describe the reality of their dreams and other states of awareness that they reach during meditation.

Dreams, to me, are a higher level of awareness than waking reality. Things may seem less solid. There seems to be less of the story’s continuity, but we seem to have a soul link with the truth of the universe in dreams. When we talk to other people, our souls are talking. We don’t have the barrier of our physical bodies and all the memories we carry that taint our interactions. It’s pure, and to me, an elevated level of consciousness.

Dreams are soul stories. Astral travel. Boundless life.

Waking existence is restrictive and our awareness is overshadowed by the input we get from our five senses. We rely on them an awful lot here. Imagine the awareness we could achieve if we all started understanding situations from within!

Most People Just Aren’t Aware

Waking life is malleable. We manifest it. Our consciousness creates it. The consciousness of the universe creates it. (Those two categories of consciousness are not really separate.)

It’s funny to read a book about lucid dreaming written by people without the spiritual awareness of the nature of dreams — and reality. They assume that dreaming is “merely our subconscious” and therefore it’s fun to manipulate it. It’s fun to become aware that we’re dreaming and then start flying or instantly manifest a sports car. It’s just like an amusement park ride to them. They don’t see the deep meaning of such an exercise for the soul. How can anyone practice lucid dreaming without the understanding that it is a transcendence of consciousness toward enlightenment?

If you aren’t aware of the reality you’re living in waking life, then you won’t see the magic of lucid dreaming.

If you aren’t lucid here, why try to be lucid there?

Wake up to reality. This is a dream. You can become lucid, here, too. You can manifest a sports car or fly if you really want to — it’s a matter of consciousness. But those things are child’s play. The coolest thing anyone can achieve in waking or dreaming lucidity is happiness and bliss.

You’re Dreaming.

Wake up. That’s all I want for you and everyone. Become aware of reality now. Understand what you really are!

What’s going on in your “waking” life feels so real. You easily get attached to it. It seems like it’s all there ever was.

It’s your job to remember your soul-level awareness and reclaim who you really are.

This is one story among many. You’re playing one role among many that you’ve played. You can transform your identity at any time. The possibilities are endless. You can change your life path whenever, and all you have to do is change the way your mind is working. You can rise above it and see the thoughts without claiming them as yours. You can live without attachment.

Imagine all of the wisdom you could gain if you transcended this dream all the time. You would be happy. You could help people. Instead of manifesting a sports car, you could see the intricate workings of quantum energy and use it to heal others. Instead of trying to fly, you could manipulate the vibrations in the world around you to create abundance for everyone.

The possibilities are endless. But you need to wake up.
