Your soul can heal and you’ll feel better if you follow these steps to create a spiritual vision board.
Vision boards are visual creations that represent a person’s dreams, desires, or goals. When you create one, it can help you focus on what you want to manifest into your life. I think vision boarding can be even more. I just finished making mine in preparation for the “Day of Miracles” as astrologers call it, which happens once a year when Jupiter and the Sun are in conjunction. But you can make one any time. Believe me, it can help you heal and discover the true purpose of your life. I’ll teach you how to create a spiritual vision board to reach your highest self.
We sometimes want things that aren’t good for us or aren’t in line with our true purpose. How can we heal if we are trying to manifest things that won’t actually serve us in the long run? Vision boarding helps us become more focused on the things that will benefit us and the world we inhabit. It cuts through all the distractions and forces clarity around what’s really important.
Vision boarding is therapeutic and helps us identify who and what we are at our cores. After making a vision board, I could feel myself getting stronger and more balanced. I saw what I needed to focus on and what was merely a temptation or a secondary desire.
For my vision boarding journey, I used Canva, and I encourage you to do the same. I’ll show you the steps I followed that you can easily use to start your vision boarding journey!
Step 1: Pick Three Major Things You Want to Manifest into Your Life
Think about what you want to change in your life and how it can improve. Are there three things you can identify that will increase your happiness and restore your balance with the world? I chose to focus on being open to answers coming from anywhere, abundance, and radical healing. These are three things that would make my life significantly better. I want to trust the universe to give me what I need to live, and to help the process of life work better for myself and others.
Maybe you want to do the things I am aiming for or something entirely different. Perhaps you’d like to learn something new, shed bad habits, or create better relationships. The possibilities are endless. Choose three that you feel strongly about. Write down (or type out) these three items on your vision board.
If you’re using Canva, you can choose from some great “elements” in their gallery to represent your ideas. If you’re writing it down, you can put these items on a piece of paper to paste onto a physical board and attach relevant imagery, perhaps from magazine clippings or your own drawings.
Step 2: Examine Your Goals Closely — Are They Related to Happiness?
Now that you’ve identified the three major things that you want in your life, think about whether you need them. To be happy, we have certain needs, such as enough to eat and a roof over our heads, as well as love and the ability to be a valued member of a community. These are the building blocks of a healthy and happy life. So, look at these three items you have in front of you from step one: why do you need these things?
Did you write down “money” as one of your items? Or, perhaps, a bigger house? Or a trip? Why do you want those things? Will they actually make you happy or are they transient, temporary, or empty?
Money seems like something that most people would hope to manifest. But I chose not to focus on money, and instead, I look at abundance. Plenty of people have money, but they aren’t happy. They don’t have an abundance of love and meaning in their lives. I look at things this way: if it doesn’t go with my soul when I die, then I don’t focus on it.
Relationships, service to others, and a sense of fulfillment are the things we have in our souls forever.
So, why would I want money or a trip to Hawaii? Those things just leave me wanting more. Vacations end, and we begin to feel sad until we are on the next one. Money is spent or we don’t think it’s enough, so we become greedy and unsatisfied unless we have more of it. These things, on their own, do not amount to abundance.
If you are aiming to attract things into your life that actually don’t serve you, I caution this strongly. Your soul’s true purpose and happiness should be your main concern.
You will truly heal when you focus on the deepest needs of your heart. Not when you ask for things that aren’t serving your core.
The universe only manifests what you need. It’s your job to open yourself to that. Your soul’s journey requires certain things that can’t be answered by attachment to material objects or money, and nothing you are wanting is meaningful on its own unless it’s helping you realize your life’s purpose. I believe that this purpose always relates to helping others and being of service.
So, with this wisdom, choose your three main goals with care.
Step 3: Add Details and Secondary Keywords
Your vision board has its basic foundation now. Congratulations! All you need to do from this point is to add the details. There can be secondary keywords and related thoughts that you may want to add in text or in imagery. I like to think of it as a mind map, where everything is placed next to related ideas. Let your creative juices flow. Look within yourself to find out what your vision requires.
What else does your soul need to heal? Write that down.
My vision board has many lesser keywords sprinkled all over it, but you don’t need to have as many as I have. You could choose to just show these ideas with images instead. The important thing is that you include your ideas together in one way or another so that your vision board is truly expressive of you.
Here is my final version:
As you might be able to tell, I had quite a bit of fun with this activity. I hope you will, too.
Start Your Journey Now
Once your vision board is complete, you can start to focus and heal. Your ideas are all out of your head and on the board now. You can shut out any frantic thoughts and emotions that may be pulling you in unbeneficial directions. The most important things can be in your spotlight because you’ve made space for them. This is why vision boarding is so powerful and so important. It clears the path to success, happiness, and healing.
Hi Emily,
This looks interesting, a vision board to start a new year.
You site is easy to follow and your articles remind me of so many things I’ve tried in the past but hadn’t tapped into for a long time.
