When you surrender to the present moment and the flow of life, miracles begin to happen.
I’ve heard people say that when you meditate, nothing happens. Apparently, they think this is what success would mean for a meditator. But in my experience, this is simply false. The conscious goal may be to quiet the mind, but the most amazing things happen after this is achieved. Any number of these things and more can happen next:
- a state of bliss
- a state of complete understanding
- downloads and insights about your life
- messages and instructions from the universe
- reassurances from the universe
- understanding who ad what you truly are
- out of body experiences
If these seven things aren’t enough to make you curious about meditating, then I don’t know what is.
And there could be so much more in store for you. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Meditation helps you understand who you are at a soul level.
Meditation isn’t just for lowering your stress and getting healthier. It isn’t just to focus on your work better. It’s to understand your place in the universe and what you truly are. The experiences that begin to happen in meditation are magical because they can transform your mindset and perspective. When you’ve reached a higher level of consciousness, you can’t help but understand life in a new way.
Let’s talk about some of the things that do happen in meditation.
Finding Peace Within the Mind
Meditation’s first noticeable benefits include feelings of peace and bliss. When the thoughts begin to settle and the capability for silence is recognized, the love within you expands. Your mind reaches a point of equanimity and you stop allowing stress or fear to guide your thoughts.
This is not nothing. It’s a feeling of more control and trust than you could have when your mind isn’t clear and organized. You’re able to feel wonderfully at ease with your own mind.
There’s so much beauty in a calm, focused mind. Thought activity can flow more freely and without fear. It can start the process of creating and producing effects in the world with grace.
The Next Level of Consciousness
As soon as you’re meditating for a while, or even sometimes right away, you get glimpses of a higher level of awareness. Your consciousness expands. You enter a peaceful, expansive state where everything starts to make sense.
Sometimes, I have reached a state where I feel the minds around me. I am deeply connected to the consciousness I am part of. Awareness of life and its mysteries reveals itself. It feels like I can become a master of my own destiny.
This is the opposite of “nothing” happening. All of a sudden, the real powers of your mind are activated and you feel like you could do anything. Things become possible that were previously impossible or blocked.
Unusual Experiences
Meditation can give us the truth. The physical reality we experience is just one manifestation of the universe, and it is a veil. it is a sort of illusion. Behind it lies reality. In meditation, we transcend the veil.
This experience will be different between individuals. I know someone who says she feels a touch on her hair or her shoulder when she meditates. I often spin and feel my energy healing. There are people who have out-of-body experiences. You could find yourself traveling through a tunnel to another dimension or journeying across the universe. Angels might appear, or spirits of loved ones. Lots of things can happen, and it proves that our waking, “normal” life isn’t as it seems.
There’s so much more to life than the mundane, meaningless way most of humanity operates.
Meditation is Fun
Is it weird to say that it’s fun? I really feel this way. I look forward to meditation time. It’s when I get to know my own mind really well and reality defragments a little. I gain perspective. I understand that essentially, I am a soul.
I go beyond the ego and let go of my attachments to this particular incarnation for a time. Connecting deeply to my highest self helps me navigate life with a sense of humor and a “big picture” point of view.
I see that this is all a role I am playing on a great stage, and I enjoy the unexpected twists of the plot a lot more.
