I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to hear countless first-hand accounts of twin flames. My clients tell me the most incredible stories you could fathom, trust me. It never gets boring. The stories are wild, passionate, spiritual, and eye-opening. Of course, they’re full of pain, too, but I try to get my clients to find gratitude despite the heartbreak. We are lucky to even experience such a weird and wonderful thing when most people don’t. Let me explain why the twin flame runner denies feelings.

Of course, most of my clients are what we call “the chaser” in the twin flame relationship. But not all of them are. Sometimes, I am able to hear why someone else shut down and ran away. I get to hear about the experience from the point of view of the runner twin flame.

When you know your twin flame, it is awful when they’ve stopped talking to you. They’re the one person on this planet who really gets you, and yet you can’t be together easily. Thus, the separation period begins. It is maddening. I hope to clear up some confusion about why this is happening with the twin flame runner.

The Runner Shuts Down

The runner in the twin flame dynamic sometimes just can’t deal with the relationship anymore. They may be in a romantic or even platonic relationship with you. But they just don’t want to be friends anymore — or lovers. They don’t want to talk.

They shut down, and it seems like it makes no sense. To the chaser, it feels insane that this relationship can’t work out, since you are so perfect for each other. There is no greater feeling to be had in this life than when you’re together, so why would one of the parties run from the other? Why miss out on this incredible chance to be happy? And yet, it happens — they run. It will almost never make any sense.

They just shut down.

It’s Pure and Illogical Fear

I think it isn’t supposed to make any sense. In “normal” relationship terms, twin flames seem illogical. They don’t fit the same standards we hold for other relationships. The behavior is pure insanity. The universe has sent you this experience to turn your reality upside-down.

Make no mistake, the runner shuts down out of immense fear. They can’t even think about the situation they’re facing with the chaser. They won’t face it. They refuse. It freaks them out.

Perhaps they’re dealing with depression. Perhaps they are escaping reality in other ways. But they just can’t take the fear and possible anxiety that the chaser presents them with. So, instead, they choose avoidance.

There Is So Much Still to Heal

We are all — in some sense — the runner. We just don’t know it. If you still have to heal something in your heart and remove fear, then you’re not ready for such a mind-blowingly perfect relationship, either. The one who is perceived to be the runner is not the only one who is resisting. It just may not be totally obvious.

You may subconsciously also be running.

So, you have to heal. You have to do the work. Meditate, journal, love yourself, and find a way to get to peace. This is how we come into union — with ourselves and our twins. There will always be more to heal, but it’s never too late to start the healing.
