Last year, I started a little journal for the sole purpose of tracking how signs from the universe precede events in my life. Anytime something unusual happened, I would make note of it and record it. Then, after collecting the data from several days or weeks, I would look back and try to understand how certain events led to others. I started to connect the dots between the coincidences in the universe and my life path.

When we look back over the course of our lives, we can see that there were things that just made sense, but we could never have known that at the time it was unfolding. Life is strange and we aren’t really supposed to know the future or predict where things are going. It’s supposed to be a surprise! The universe has no obligation to make sense.

Things don’t seem like they make sense right now, but everything happens for a reason, and it will be revealed sometime in the future.

Many of my clients tell me that they see repeated numbers and words at certain times in their lives — especially when something highly spiritual is happening to them. I personally experience this all the time — and it seems to ramp up at certain times, but I don’t always know why. I think it means we are more in alignment when the coincidences take off like that. But there seems to be more to it than just being in alignment.

Sometimes, we are miserable and endure a lot of stress, but coincidences start to happen more and more. Why would that be? Does the universe want us to be uncomfortable? It raises a lot of questions for the logical mind.

The answer is yes, we are meant to be uncomfortable sometimes. The universe manifests synchronicities to show us that we are on the right roadmap. Even when we are losing our minds, it is an essential part of our journey. We can have some comfort knowing that all the insanity actually makes sense in the grand scheme of things.

We’re meant to go through rough times. It’s the only way to awaken to a higher level of consciousness. We’re meant to walk a path of misery at certain times because the soul has the ability to find a way out. It’s necessary to be in the dark so that we can appreciate the light. We’re here to learn soul lessons, and we can’t learn them without being lost sometimes. No one can hold our hand during our spiritual growth — it’s all on us as individuals to learn the big lessons on our own.

Think about what happened in your past. Did you experience a lot of synchronicities at times when you felt lost? Did things seem to be falling apart and events seem to make no sense? And yet, did you get signals from the universe that all was well? Think about that. Didn’t it work out in the end? Wasn’t it a necessary period for you to learn something big? The universe has no obligation to make sense.

When it’s happening again to you, don’t let the world get you down. Next time, stay calm. Keep the faith that you are doing the right things and that the universe has a bigger plan for you. Just enjoy every moment and try to overcome the hard times. There is joy to be found in every moment. There’s a plot to be enjoyed in every story.
