Most people just want a result without stopping to understand what’s good for the universe
I am sure you’ve heard of this weird thing called manifestation. There are tons of Instagram posts, masterclasses, and articles all over the internet about it claiming that you can manifest your dreams with the power of your mind. It’s very interesting to open yourself to the possibility that your mindset actually creates your reality. I could write a whole post about my experiences manifesting what I wanted — but instead, today I am here to tell you what you shouldn’t be doing when engaging in manifestation. I don’t want to spoil you for reading the rest of this article, but anything you do out of ego or self-interest is not the way.
I wrote recently about creating a vision board in order to achieve your dreams. But I didn’t analyze the nature of those dreams very much in the post. There are certain things that it just seems silly to try to manifest. If you could manifest a sports car or a million dollars, what purpose does that really serve? Aiming for manifesting material attachments is not the key to happiness, and why would you try to manifest something that brings you misery?
Money Money Money
I chuckle when I see someone suggesting that you can “manifest money” into your life. “Focus on your third eye, listen to this singing bowl, and manifest money into your life.” Let’s imagine for a minute that this is possible. Why do you want money? Do you just want that new car or a designer bag? I mean, do you think the universe wants this for you, and do you feel in alignment with the rest of reality when you wish for such things? The desire for money is usually related to your ego.
The thing to always ask yourself is: what is the ultimate reason for wanting this thing?
We all want more money. I want money, too. But there’s a reason that you and I weren’t born with oodles of it. Maybe we needed to have what we have in order to be who we are. Maybe money would prevent us from having certain types of soul-strengthening experiences. Maybe it would corrupt us.
The universe knows what money does to people. Our collective consciousness, which is constructing all of the physical world we experience, doesn’t allocate money equally or even “fairly” by naive standards. But things aren’t as simple as they seem. There are reasons why every single person isn’t born into equal resources — there’s a greater plan being orchestrated all the time, and it’s beyond our comprehension. But rest assured, it’s necessary.
Practice Gratitude
If you want money, you have to understand why you don’t have it right now and be grateful for what you do have. If you pray for money and stay fixated on it, there’s a chance it won’t manifest, but also, you don’t get anywhere near meeting your higher self. That’s the goal of your existence and why you manifested your individual self here. If money isn’t going to help you get to that higher self, it will not and should not manifest.
Some people receive large sums of money from life. These are sometimes people who seemingly don’t deserve a lot of money because they’re nowhere near their higher selves. But sometimes money is there to teach us by showering down on us. Money can be revealed as a negative thing after we get it. We know this because it’s a common saying, “money can’t buy me happiness.” Do you want to manifest money so that you can learn from it why you didn’t need it in the first place? It seems like there are easier, less painful ways to learn a lesson.
Practice gratitude and realize that money may not solve all your problems.
Relationships and Self-Realization
What’s better than money? Love.
Love inside yourself and love between you and others is lasting, infinite, and abundant. Manifest more of that into your life — that’s what causes fulfillment and lasting happiness.
Love yourself. Realize your true self and purpose, and you will attract pure, good relationships into your life. Good things will begin to happen to you. This isn’t a miracle — it’s almost obvious. When you feel good and nothing can stop you feeling good, it spreads to other people, and they’ll want to be around your energy.
Why Things Are The Way They Are
I want to hear about anyone who has ever successfully manifested material things into their lives. I don’t believe the universe would bring about the attainment of materialistic goals. There’s a reason that we experience desire and want, and why we are separated from things we desire. It is a practice in gratitude. It’s a practice in growth and an experience of humanity. If we could get what we wanted just by focusing on it and wanting it more and more, that would defeat the purpose of ever being separated from the object of our desires in the first place.
However, gratitude might be the first step toward living an abundant life. That’s because you’ll get into a place where you’re happy no matter what manifests. It’s all about mindset.
