We often take life too seriously, in my opinion. We don’t stop to see the irony and divine humor in the “coincidences” of the world. The series of events that unfold before your eyes can either be seen as an expression of sheer randomness (which is terrifying) or as an expression of divine love. When you see it as an expression of divine love, it’s hard not to see a lot of things as hilarious.
I call it divine hilarity.
You’re a soul in a safe space observing it all — why would it not be funny? Life is weird. The stories of our lives are genuinely unbelievable. Divine hilarity pervades your life.
Sometimes we all just need a laugh. Laughing changes our frequency, it lifts us out of sorrow, and I truly believe that it is an expression of universal energy. Recently, when I’ve had a rough period, I can tell I’m finally recovering when I can make dark and sarcastically funny comments about my own absurd situations that I’ve been crying about. Spirit loves humor and wants us to laugh. It spreads love, which is all that matters!
The universe has a ton of hilarious irony in it, and that’s not an accident. Our existence relies on irony for an ability to rise above suffering and laugh at circumstances we face. And have you ever noticed that when you’re laughing a lot, good things seem to manifest more quickly for you?
Humor is a great expression of divine love.
The universe is full of love. It is created with love. Your existence is possible because of all the love literally in the air and in all of spacetime. Our egos limit our ability to experience this expansive and full love, but we need the ego in order to experience life as individuals and to allow the universe to love itself.
When we laugh, we are tapping into the love that has always been there. It is infinite. Children laughing during playtime are such beautiful expressions of love. Friends laughing in remembrance of years gone by are channeling self-love and happiness at merely being alive. Even in sarcasm and dirty humor, we are identifying the ability to rise above mundane problems and laugh at ourselves — because we are the universe.
Divine hilarity is everywhere because love is everywhere. Learn to channel it.
When you laugh at a situation, you’re seeing the big picture.
Since we are the universe, laughing at a situation is laughing at an extension of ourselves. It allows us to be a little less serious about the existence we find ourselves in.
The universe lights up when we rise above our situations for a moment. When we connect with others, see the connections of irony in the world, or laugh at our own misfortunes, we’re identifying with our souls. We’re seeing past the narrow view of the world from the perspective of the ego that limits our connection with love.
Coming from the soul level, we can’t help but identify with love instead of fear, which causes stress and prevents us from laughing.
Irony is evidence of the divine humor in the universe.
I think the greatest manifestation of divine love is irony. The humor we can find in absurd, unexpected, and unusually coincidental situations is absolutely the product of channeling love. Divine hilarity lives in irony.
Every time I see synchronicities like a license plate with only the number 2 repeated (such as 22222), I just laugh out loud. I am not kidding. I will be in my car alone and see something absurd like that, and just laugh — because whatever kind of message it is, it’s a reminder of the love and support all around me which can show up any time I let it. When it comes exactly at a time when I am questioning myself and getting worried about my path, it’s perfect.
It fills us with love when we see that the world isn’t random. The collective consciousness of the universe speaks to us through situations and the unfolding of events. This is divine humor.
Just when you think things are going terribly for you, something will happen that makes you stop and laugh at life and takes you — for a moment — away from this storyline you find yourself in. For an instant, even the least awake of people can connect with their eternal souls and the fact that they’re playing a role here in this life. Sometimes it’s just hilarious!
Laugh and make others laugh.
If you resonate with all that I’ve said here, then the next step is for you to endeavor always to keep a light attitude and try to bring divine humor to situations. Other people are stressed. They aren’t always awake to these truths. They struggle. If you’re aware of what’s really going on, then why not try to make them laugh? Bring divine hilarity to the darkest of times.
This is why I have started doing silly and insulting tarot card readings on social media.
Always tell the truth and try to put a smile on the face of others. Life is fleeting and all we have is the present moment. Why not fill it with humor and give others chances to recognize irony? Shine a light on people’s lives so that they can laugh.
Dare to make fun of even the most serious of circumstances. Venture into territories that seem taboo. See what happens. Keep love in your heart, and you can’t go wrong, even when you’re ridiculing the issues that seem off-limits.
It’s probably the greatest you can ever do, and it’s easy. So, why not?
