I’ve been communicating with Spirit for some time now. I’m certainly not as skilled as some psychic mediums out there, but I know a thing or two. I know that spirits — either those who have passed to the other side in our lives or our guides — are far wiser than us, but they aren’t necessarily more powerful than us.
Being human has its benefits. To the mundane matrix-bound people on Earth, it seems like a privilege to be alive instead of “dead” — but to the spiritual people, it’s not always clear what privilege there is in living. If you’re at all familiar with spirits, you will understand that death isn’t the end and when we die, our spirits are released into some other realm or dimension — yet somehow overlapping this one.
We become spirits without bodies after this life. Free to roam. Free to be. We can be anywhere at any time and know a lot more things than we could in our human form. This sounds great, right?
But what if being in human form has its advantages? We’re here to learn lessons and grow our souls. This is one thing that an incarnation here does for us. We can’t learn the same way or as fast without coming here.
But there may be other aspects of human existence that we’ve overlooked. Maybe we’re actually the strong ones. Maybe we’re envied by disembodied spirits. We can physically make great change happen anytime we want. We are physical manifestations of something that is usually unmanifest — only in spirit.
When communicating with Spirit, we must take these things into consideration.
The Spirit World
Sometimes I think of spirits as individual souls who have autonomy, and sometimes I view them as one and just call it Spirit. You’re part of that great force, too. We all are.
Separation and oneness somehow happen at the same time, and it’s a great mystery for us as humans. How can two contradictory states coexist? But they somehow do.
It helps to imagine the spirit that resides in you as existing essentially without the body. Imagine it coming into this realm, operational through this body and its relation to the world. When your body dies, it’s the end of that story, but the spirit persists. It is released back into pure spiritual form.
We probably can’t remotely imagine what this is like while we’re here as humans — unless we meditate a lot and/or have out-of-body experiences.
This is my take on it, after meditating a lot and talking with Spirit: the spirit world is unbounded — like a dream. There are fewer limitations and a constant connection with the source. The oneness of everything is clear. But the storylines of our human lives are also apparent, and Spirit helps us follow our paths to a destination.
Individual spirits can watch over us, and be in many places at one time. Time isn’t the same where they are. It’s merely a separator.
Sometimes they can see what’s ahead, and sometimes they choose to warn us. But mostly, they share our mission on Earth of elevating the overall human consciousness, and part of that is working with us to make sure we know just enough to get the job done and learn the biggest lessons.
The Human Experience
Being human is really exciting for souls. We choose to come here to be blasted in the face with really hard lessons and we expand super fast. I would bet that there’s the equivalent of a waiting list on the other side for souls that want to come to Earth.
As humans it’s not merely for our own souls that we grow and learn. As a collective, humanity evolves. And each and every one of us is part of that evolution.
Being human is really hard. It’s painful. we’re always searching for answers and it feels unfair that spirits have all the answers. But what if being here, living in the dark, was actually better than being a spirit with all the wisdom?
Why Spirits Need Us and We Need Them
I certainly could be wrong, but I think it’s clear that spirits need us. Communicating with Spirit has reciprocal benefits. That’s why they hang around us — not just out of compassion for our journeys without them in physical form, but because we carry out missions that they can’t. And they have deep soul desires to make a better world, so they rely on us to make that a reality.
We are their beacon of hope as much as they are ours. We must be strong for them. We can’t fully rely on them to solve all our problems. If you ask a spirit for a sign, they may be able to help you with some knowledge and wisdom. But they’re asking you to wake up and do something about the state of affairs in this world.
They desperately hope that we all will follow our true paths, align ourselves with our individual purposes here on Earth, and elevate our own consciousness as well as the consciousness of the collective. They call on us to spread more love and joy during our short journeys here. They see so clearly what’s important while the truth is often hidden from us.
So, work with Spirit. Cultivate communicating with Spirit. It’s not one-sided. Wake up to the significance of your presence here in life and do something about it. In working reciprocally, they help us and we help them.
